Guys hang on longer than girls, because of the effort they put into it to get pride out of it. I'd say they tend to be more emotionally committed, because they're frequently afraid of being rejected when not dating. He's made an art out of "getting" you(please excuse the expression for lack of better words), but the ideal guy should be able to suppress old feelings. I think it might be best that you both see a school counselor, maybe even at the same time if the counselor says so. You need mediation of some sort or else he'll keep clinging and it could get really bad. Also, you could ask the counselor to talk to the other girl, too, without mentioning you, to increase her relationship with the guy, while you decrease your relationship with the guy. Is this a trick question? Of course! I'm sure you've got some type of scar or flaw in your skin. That doesn't mean that he should not date you because of that. It's all about what's on the inside, not the outside. You can't always have things your perfect way. But, you can get over the tattoo and you will grow to not notice it as much and it will just be a part of him. But if he was a lowlife slacker, ignored you, beat you, was never there for you, didn't have any initiative for life… you couldn't just ignore these things. He's a little aggressive and controlling. It makes me wonder just how rough he will get in the future. Right now I don't think it's abusive but it's a very short way to go on becoming abusive.Tell him, demand that he no longer holds you down like that or grabs your wrists anymore. Don't be "nice" about it and don't be apologetic or think that you're asking for something out of the question or that you're being too sensitive.This guy needs to learn that no means no and he cannot, should not put his hands on you to control you. I don't like the sound of this guy. But you'll have to see how he reacts to your telling him not to grab you anymore. If he obliges and it's no longer a problem, okay, than he just didn't know any better. If he continues to do so…I highly recommend your looking at your other options because this guy is trouble. I wouldn't be surprised that if this is the case, he had an abusive father who beat his Mom or treated her very poorly and disrespectfully or he's just a pig headed jerk. grab your manly balls and ask her out, be it for an icecream or pizza or something similar.
