Bringing in a horse that isn’t himself?

The last time my horses wouldn’t come in I later found that they had been run by some local dogs while they were out. I also had some trouble at another barn when we did night turnout. Some local drunks tried riding them at night, and the next morning the whole group was upset in  Read more »

How soon must zebra danio eggs be fertilized?

Zebra danios usually breed in schools. The correct ration to ensure maximum fertilization is 2 males to one female. they are usually bred in a tank with marbles on the bottom, so as the eggs drop, the 2 males fertilize them and the fertilized eggs disappear in the marbles which gives you several hours to  Read more »

How much do orangitangs cost?

No idea but I would take this into consideration… he International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) lists the Bornean Orangutan as “endangered,” and the Sumatran Orangutan as “critically endangered.” Both could become extinct without protection of their remaining—and dwindling—habitat. The orangutan population, which once numbered in the hundreds of thousands, has decreased by  Read more »

Is It okay if I walk my dog off leash?

When a dog walks in front of you, it is probably too busy enjoying the sights, sounds and smells to ever bother about thinking which of you is walking the other. Your dog can do this on or off leash. If you want your dog to run around, play fetch in your fenced yard or  Read more »

Are Rhodesian ridgeback dogs good pets?

Yes, they are wonderful pets! I have one who is two years old. Keep in mind, these are high energy dogs needing lots of exercise. Also these dogs tend to be pretty protective and territorial. Mine is especially protective of women and quite the little loverboy at 90 pounds. We do have four other dogs  Read more »

Dog owners what do you think of other owners who don’t pick up after their dogs?

I’m suprised to see so many people thinking its no big deal. I’m guessing they’re unaware that dog waste is not just a nuisance, it’s a health hazard, especially for young children who may fall in it or touch it. If they touch dog waste, and then touch their eyes for example, they have the  Read more »

Why do some users recommend purchasing a dog from a show breeder?

Malinois haven’t diverged in type like GSDs. The breeders producing dogs with only protection titles tend to be producing neurotic dogs with structural problems (not the kind you can test for, the “oh, wow, that dog is ugly and they move like a frog” kind). Breeders producing legitimate working dogs are often OK, but most  Read more »

Dog keeps throwing up?

If you adopted your Chihuahua on Sunday he should have been to the vets on Monday for a well check. Since it’s been 4 days of some type of vomiting he needs to see his vet tomorrow as he will become dehydrated!!! It is probably stress from being in new surroundings, and new food. Stop  Read more »

Has anybody had their dog’s hair made into clothing?

As a sheltie owner(12), you can imagine the hair in my house. There are several people on the net that spin dog hair into “yarn” and then it is knitted into hats, scarves, and mittens. Depending upon ther color, the finished yarn can be beautiful. Sweaters are another product that can be knitted, and although  Read more »

What interesting talent does your dog(s) have?

Sophie is smart as a whip. She knows how to get you to feed/water her, she knows to get her toys (we haven’t gotten to specifically naming them yet but she’s getting close) and she LOVES to fetch. She also loves to steal – she has a system of checking nightstands, pants pockets, etc. to  Read more »

Labrador Retriever Puppy, how to calm down?

Daily exercise and games to tire him out. If he is still excited, just ignore him then pat him once he is calm, you could also use your body to block him from running around and calmly get him to sit or lie down until he is calm. LMAO, I know what you mean about  Read more »

What are the common illness that pugs have ?

Pugs are a flat faced dog, which means they have a hard time breathing. You would’ve noticed that this stops after sometimes, don’t let him exert too much and keep him in a cool place, not too much time outside. Pugs can develop serious problems if the wrinkles on their face are not cleaned. They  Read more »

What is a good dog for protection and loving company?

“I intend to have it trained by professionals”…. I hope you are meaning the £10,000 type of professionals and not some of the DIY cowboys that you see advertised.  You want any type of dog as a “guard” dog then you either have “the best” or you have “an accident waiting to happen”… and I’ve  Read more »

How do puppies look when formed inside the mother day 2 of breeding?

I don’t have a link to leave you but think of it this way. A humans pregnancy is about 40 weeks long or 9 months. A human goes through 3 developmental stages called trimesters. A dogs pregnancy on average is about 9 weeks. Breaking that up in trimesters, first 3 weeks would be the first  Read more »

Unless you are a very experienced trainer in this field and obviously you are not or you wouldn`t be asking this question, don`t even attempt to train your pup to attack. Where can I buy a cheap dog playpen?

It’s not required to have a playpen. I never used one with my own dogs however, I have with rescues and they do come in very handy if you need to “contain” your dog’s roam. Perhaps someone is working in the yard and the gate is open so it would be unsafe to allow him  Read more »

What is your opinion on Pit Bulls?

I’ll never have another dog, other then a pit bull. I feel so bad for these dogs that are trying their hardest to please those inconsiderate, immature, most selfish, piles of crap owners, and yet, aren’t loved like a dog should be.  Makes me honestly cry, because I KNOW what these dogs are capable of  Read more »
